RAND is seeking a cost/management systems analyst/estimator with experience in engineering and the evaluation of life cycle costs of major weapon systems. Successful candidates will apply their cost analysis and engineering skills to a broad range of national security policy issues. The work may involve many aspects of program and technology evaluation such as examining the costs and benefits of alternative courses of action, assessing the cost or budgetary risks associated with a particular program, collecting quantitative and qualitative information from both private industry and government, developing new or updating existing methods and models, and reviewing other published research. Work may also involve interacting with government clients in support of their estimating activities.

Requirements
Qualifications:
A background in engineering or physical science is required - The ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary research team - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Solid quantitative and analytic skills as well as a familiarity with basic cost analysis concepts - Skill in statistics, econometrics, and/or database management - A background in aircraft or space programs is highly desirable - U.S. citizenship is required in order to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; transferable Security Clearance desirable.
Education Requirements:
Master's degree in engineering, physical sciences, economics, operations research or the equivalent. Ph.D. preferred.
